Poolbeg
Productions, which was originally founded in 1982, is one of Ireland's
most well-respected independent film and television production companies.
Our productions have been commissioned or transmitted by RTÉ, Channel
4, BBC, La Sept/ARTE, Ulster Television, PBS stations in the United States
and many other international broadcasters. They have won a number of awards
and have been screened at the Chicago, Melbourne, London, Hong Kong, Augsburg,
Taormina, Sydney, Geneva, Wellington, Dublin, Cork, Foyle, and Celtic
Film Festivals; at INPUT; and in retrospectives throughout the world.
Our four-part series about life in Dublin's Mountjoy Prison, The Joy,
received the highest ever ratings for any documentary series in the history
of Irish television, when transmitted on RTÉ in January/February
1997. If You're Not In, You Can't Win! was shortlisted for
an ESB Media Award (TV Documentary) in 2004. |
